Meet the Team Working with Michael Moore
Personal Assistant - Angela Jackson
Role: Angela acts as the first contact point for telephone enquiries and visitors to the constituency office in Galashiels. She manages Michael's diary and arranges appointments in both Westminster and the constituency. Other duties include liaison with national and local organisations, and contact with the Press.
Background: Angela joined the constituency office in October 2008. Her previous experience has been with The Border Reivers Professional Rugby Team, Heriot Watt University in Galashiels and Scottish Natural Heritage in Edinburgh. She has also worked within the NHS Executive and undertook accountancy training with KPMG. She has a BSc. degree in Accounting and Financial Management.
Casework Assistant - Margaret Lundie
Role: Margaret is responsible for handling casework enquiries from constituents on issues which affect their personal circumstances (e.g. taxation, child support, benefits, immigration, DVLA). She liaises directly with local organisations as necessary and organises the regular advice surgeries.
Background: Margaret has been part of the constituency team since 2004. Previously she was part of the administration team at Galashiels Academy and before that dealt with Councillors' casework enquiries in Glasgow.
Constituency Researcher and Caseworker - Alison Moore
Role: Alison is responsible for handling constituents' enquiries about matters being considered in the House of Commons (e.g. digital switchover, fair trade, the Budget, the Iraq war, Private Members' Bills, 'Early Day Motions', WTO textiles matters, EU structural funds). She prepares background research papers in addition to dealing with the detailed enquiries.
Background: Alison joined the constituency team in 2006. For the previous two years she was a senior fund raiser with the charity 'Children 1st', based in Edinburgh. Before that she was a manager in the International Office of the Liberal Democrats in London, which followed a year working for Dr Evan Harris MP.
Parliamentary Researcher - Stephanie Archer
Role: Stephanie is the only member of staff based in Westminster and is responsible for Michael's work in Parliament as MP for the Borders. This includes policy research, speech preparation and communications. She also responds to constituents' inquiries regarding Coalition Government policy.
Background: Stephanie joined the team in October 2010 having worked for Tim Farron MP prior to this. She graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2007 with a BA Hons in History and spent a year living in Spain teaching English and then another year working as a Spanish communications assistance for Lufthansa.
