Welcome to Michael Moore MP's Website
Welcome to my website.
I hope you will find the information you want on this website about what is going on in the constituency and my activities in the House of Commons.
The Week Ahead
Monday 21 - Friday 25 July 2008
Here are some highlights of what I will be doing this week:
On Monday morning I will be visiting Eyemouth Freezers before travelling down to Westminster for the start of the parliamentary week. Later on I will attend the screening of a new film on climate change before the weekly meeting of the Liberal Democrat International Affairs team.
On Tuesday morning I will be meeting representatives of Saferworld in my role as International Development spokesman for the Liberal Democrats, before attending Shadow Cabinet. I will then be meeting the Public Affairs Manager of BT as part of my campaign to prevent the removal of rural payphones in the Borders. Following this I will be in the Chamber for an Adjournment Debate and hope to get called to raise several pressing constituency matters.
On Wednesday I will be working in my office in London finalising matters before the start of the summer parliamentary recess.
On Thursday I will take part in the Walk of Witness from Whitehall Place to Lambeth Palace to raise awareness of poverty issues and the lack of progress towards the UN Millennium Development Goals. In the afternoon I will be travelling back home to the Borders.
On Friday I will be visiting the Borders Forest Trust to learn more about the work that they do followed by a visit to the new Tourist Information Centre in Hawick.
Over the weekend I am looking forward to attending the Border Union Show where, among other things, I will be meeting with representatives of the National Farmers Union of Scotland.
